On the run from her abusive father, Jess and her mom have moved to Creston, a dying town bordered by woods.  Lost in those woods, Jess discovers a trussed boy who’s been tortured to the point of death.  She tries to save him but only succeeds in finishing the killer’s job. 

 Jess is terrified when the killer begins targeting her – but he’s not trying to kill her. 

 He’s trying to teach her.
